چکیده

Passenger comfort and vehicle stability are key aspects that must be guaranteed on ground vehicles, semi-active suspensions have offered an outstanding solution to meet these opposite objectives. This contribution describes a novel autoregressive with exogenous input (ARX) model-based predictive control strategy handled by driver block applied suspension improve passenger road holding when compared against passive system another more complex designs reported in the literature. The ARX model employs reduce computational load of closed-loop suspension. In addition, controller’s formulation case study consider actuator’s physical constraints achieve realistic results. case-study includes one-quarter two degrees-of-freedom, numerical data comes from real magnetorheological damper characterization. results, frequency-domain time-domain, measured based specific performance criteria. A substantial improvement is quantified discussed. For broader perspective findings, results work. research effort could basis further studies robust solutions such as adaptive/optimal controllers vehicle’s stability.

Semi-Active Suspension Control Using "Fast" Model-Predictive Techniques

The problem considered in this paper is the design and analysis of a control strategy, for semi-active suspensions in road vehicles, based on Model Predictive Control (MPC) techniques. The optimal control law we compute using predictive techniques aims to optimize, the suspension performance, by minimizing a quadratic cost function while ensuring that the magnitude of the forces generated by th...

Skyhook Surface Sliding Mode Control on Semi-Active Vehicle Suspension System for Ride Comfort Enhancement

A skyhook surface sliding mode control method was proposed and applied to the control on the semi-active vehicle suspension system for its ride comfort enhancement. A two degree of freedom dynamic model of a vehicle semi-active suspension system was given, which focused on the passenger’s ride comfort performance. A simulation with the given initial conditions has been devised in MATLAB/SIMULIN...

Model free control design for a semi-active suspension of a passenger car

Comfort and road handling in passenger cars can be improved by including a semi-active suspension system, controlled by online varying the damping based on measurements of the car motions. The selection of an appropriate control structure is crucial, since it determines the complexity of the control design and parameter tuning process. Model based control requires the identification of a physic...
